Synergine were initially engaged to enact the decision to prioritise the implementation of the Blue-Green Network (BGN) Strategy for Whangārei District. The Strategy aims to create an attractive, environmentally sustainable urban environment that also better prepares the city to cope with extreme weather events and the effects of climate change.
To achieve this, Programme and Project Management support services were provided to create a functional operational framework to define a holistic and practical programme with enough detail and confidence to successfully attract funding within the Whangārei District Council 2021-2031 Long-Term Plan (LTP) and enabled work to commence without delay.
With LTP funding secured for this complex 10-year-plus programme, key support is currently being provided to establish and facilitate a Programme Management structure that enables various Council departments and outside organisations such as Northland Regional Council to collaborate on implementing the Programme and optimise funding, scheduling, risk, and scope decisions. An ArcGIS tool was also developed to enable clear tracking and communication of project status across a broad audience.
As a conduit between various departments and organisations providing the ‘big picture’ of the Blue-Green Network, Synergine is enabling cohesive, effective delivery of projects within the Programme.
